The donors were fulfilling the charity policy within the framework of their Give Back to the Community Initiative.
Representing the President/CEO of ERuDeF, the Director of Administration, Ita Nawom, said even though giving was one of those things which people find difficult to do, it is important for everyone to learn how to give, especially to the less privileged.
“ERuDeF as an organization is only contributing its own little effort as a means to give back to these orphans in the community,” Ita said.
She hoped that others would emulate the initiative to assuage the plight of the orphans and other under-privileged in the community.
While receiving the gifts on behalf of the children, the Orphanage’s Coordinator, Yaya Moses, expressed gratitude to the ERuDeF team.
He said since its opening in 2008, over 70 orphans have passed through Roots for Kids.
Yaya further said that so far about 17 orphans live at the orphanage.
According to Yaya, the vision of Roots for Kids is to see the children grow up to become better people in life than their parents who abandoned them. They hope to give the children proper education to prepare them for a better future.
