Cameroon Is Now Part of the Nagoya Protocol Family

Cameroon is the latest country to have signed the Nagoya protocol adopted on October 29, 2010 in Japan. This follows a new law No. 2014/009 of 18 July 2014 recently deliberated by parliament and promulgated into law by the President of the Republic, H.E Paul Biya. The content of the law reads as follows:
Article 1. – The President of the Republic is authorized to adhere to the Nagoya Protocol on Access to Genetic Resources and the Fair and Equitable Sharing of Benefits Arising from their Utilization, adopted on 29 October 2010 in Nagoya (Japan). 

Article 2-. This Act shall be registered, published according to emergency procedures and inserted in the Official Journal in French and English.
