Apes Caught In Camera Traps In Tofala

Ape carrying young one under belly caught by hidden camera less than a month after ERuDeF Biological team set up the gadgets in the proposed Tofala Hill Wildlife Sanctuary in Lebialem. The team set up the cameras soon after receiving a two-day training on the collection and assembling of great apes data in the forest from a wildlife expert from the Virginia Tech University, Michael St. Germain, January 9 -15, 2014. A PhD research student from University of Bonn, Sebastian Linnarz, had earlier rigged other camera traps in the forest. The elusive Cross River gorilla was also caught in camera, albeit blurred, alongside other endangered species including the Nigeria-Cameroon chimpanzees and Preuss Monkey.
