Agroforestry Farmers Contented With Agroforestry Practice
By Blaise Jumbam
Agroforestry farmers in the Northwest Region have expressed gratitude to Trees for the Future Cameroon program for impacting their lives.
The farmers were speaking during nursery establishment workshops which Trees for the Future Cameroon organised in their areas in March 2016.
Nyap Ignatius of Wuh 2 farming group in Kungi expressed great satisfaction of the impact agroforestry trees have had in his farm since he became a member of the group.
“Apart from the trees having improved on the water-holding capacity
of the soil in my farm, if allowed to grow tall, they could be a good protection against cattle that destroy crops on the farms. We look forward to planting more trees this year especially as live fences to help prevent destruction of crops by animal,” said Mungwa Victor, a farmer belonging to the Bongom farming group in Bongom.
